Over the past few weeks, I’ve been working on pen and ink drawings on paper, illustrations for Živa Čebulj’s international poetry publication, set to debut this autumn.
Translating the existential essence of a sensitive woman artist’s poetry, into a visual language I’ve picked ink pen as my medium of choice—its fine, precise lines echo the subtlety and clarity of Živa’s verse. Deliberately, I left vast empty spaces on the page, mirroring the concise, almost haiku-like form of the poems leaving all the intellectual place for personal interpretations. Incorporating several self-portraits was a way to amplify the intimate, singular voice that resonates through the poems.
solitude

Congratulations, Tamara. You are very talented; I can tell not only from your paintings, but also by reading what you write, such as the above comments about Živa’s verse. Take care & blessings
Thank you, dear Paul, I deeply appreciate your kind words!
